After a road trip to the Northern Territory during the holidays, Michael and I listened to many podcasts and of course, most of them were about the wine business. One thing I noted was an initiative in the USA “Come over October” to remind us all why we make wine and this is all about sharing a glass with someone, encouraging not the drinking but the sharing and spending time with others.
Earlier in the year I expressed to a few friends who I rarely see I wanted to start “Rose under the Fig Tree” Unfortunately with personal bereavement, this got put to the side.
My idea was a very late-minute group text. Friends do not have to RSVP; just rock up for a wine under the fig tree. There is no need to bring anything; dress as you are, come for 10 minutes, come for an hour.
The commitment in this busy time has restricted us from just the casual get-together, no fuss, just having a glass of wine.
So here’s to “Rose under the Fig Tree” please share a glass of wine with someone
