Choosing the right barrel for your style of wine and varietal is paramount and trust in your oak supplier is critical.

We have been working with Henri from Vicard Tonnelleries for a while and he identifies with our style of wine and what we are trying to achieve in our wines. Matching the wrong oak to your wines can be heartbreaking and can completely change what you were trying to achieve.

Michael and I are passionate about using oak that lets the fruit shine and terroir expressed, and not overpowering the wine.

The barrel we selected will elevate the essence of the fruit. Despite of being a strong toast, we took great care in finding a barrel that would honour the fruit’s qualities.

We ensured that the fruit’s integrity would be preserved. This barrel will contribute to the wine’s structure, volume, and add a touch of complexity to its already lingering finish. Our aim was to infuse elegance and finesse into this renowned Shiraz from Barossa Valley.
