Wines - 2014 YP Sete Di Vino (last vintage) - on special

The Wine

Sete di Vino. A thirst for wine. We all have a thirst for wine and our 2014 model features a blend of Primitivo and Barbera, fermented with wild yeasts and aged in old, seasoned French oak barrels for 14 months. If youve been following this wine over the last few years, youll notice that the blend changes with the vintage conditions; if you a new to the wine all you need to know is that it is delicious. The idea is to utilise the most delicious, simpatico grape varieties from a given vintage and produce a wine that is just pure, juicy and downright lovely to drink. And the 2014 Sete di Vino is just that.

Mid red/purple in colour with a bright, lifted aromatic profile showing fruit characters of juicy plums and blue fruits with some higher tones of fragrant mulberry and some cranberry crunch. Hints of dried orange rind, Asian spice, earth, dark licorice and wafts of balsamic and violets complete the picture. At the lighter end of medium-bodied with a fresh, energetic entry, the flavours from the nose are neatly transposed onto the palate. With rich plummy fruits, sheathed in spice flowing seamlessly across the tongue. Its sprightly and crisp on the finish, theres tannin in place, but its fine and ripe and provides gentle support to the lovely pure fruit. Dont be afraid to pop this one in the fridge for half an hour as the weather warms up and try with charcuterie or pasta dishes.
