Our Wines - 2011 - Batch 1 Sparkling Vermentino
Devote
The Wine
Medium straw in hue with an energetic bead. Inviting aromas of vivid citrus and stone fruits. Smells of grapefruit and lemon mesh with the scents of poached pear and white peach to create a heady concoction. There are hints of white flowers, sea spray, nougat, oyster shell, dried grass and fresh proving bread dough with lighter nuances of marzipan and stone.
Vibrant and exuberant immediately on the palate with the energetic bead lifting the wines flavour profile impressively. Detailed grapefruit, poached pear and lemon flavours are lifted by a floral flick of jasmine as they flow across the palate. Hints of crushed oyster shell, dried hay, almond paste, sea spray and quartz-like minerals add to the wines complexity. The wine shows great drive and balance with a distinct minerally acid structure and clean, lingering finish. The perfect sparkling aperitif or you will find out sparkling Vermentino just perfect with oysters and seafood.
